Top Five Boldest Beaches in the Caribbean

It’s summertime! Summer break has started and our team at Bold Man and the Sea Media is really feeling that hot summer sun (and afternoon thunderstorms) here in Miami. While we stare longingly out our office windows and look forward to weekends at the beach, we thought we’d list some of our favorite Caribbean beaches. How many of these vacation spots have you visited?

Grace Bay, Turks & Caicos

If you’re looking for supreme relaxation, then look no further. The beach at Grace Bay is a hotel beach through and through – full service, plentiful seating, and delicious cocktails at a moment’s notice – but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a standout beach in its own right. When you’re at Grace Bay, you’ll see some of the purest blue water ever spotted in our big blue sea. If service and splendid views are what you’re craving, then you’ve got to stay here (come on, has the Bold Man team ever steered you wrong before?).

Bolongo Bay, St. Thomas

I’m currently sailing and someone asked me my favorite location to shoot ever…. This obviously got me thinking… So over the next few posts I’m going to try to post some of my favorites. I snapped this for @carnival at Magen’s bay on St. Thomas….what are your favorite spots? . . . . . #naturephoto #main_vision #landscape_captures #awesome_earthpix #natureaddict #rsa_rural #awesomeearth #instapassport #aroundtheworldpix #ig_masterpiece #campinassp #flashesofdelight #travelog #mytinyatlas #visualmobs #theglobewanderer #forahappymoment #caribbean #unlimitedcaribbean #carribean #carribeanbeach #caribbeanlife #canonphotos #canoneos #canonrebel #canonphotographer #focalmarked #usvirginislands #stthomas #beach🌊

In all honesty, you can’t go wrong in St. Thomas. Whether you’re drinking some bushwhackers over at Paradise Point, staying at the Marriott Frenchman’s Cove, or soaking up the sun in Magen’s Bay (pictured above), you’re bound to have a wonderful (and truly bold) time. But the island is at its best when indulging on the beach at Bolongo Bay. It may not match the sublime blues of the Turks and Caicos, but once the music comes on at Iggie’s Beach Bar and you muster up a crowd to play Ring Toss with some drinks in hand, it’s hard not to fall in love with this island’s tropical vibe.

Varadero, Cuba

To many members of the Bold Man team, Cuba is their one true homeland. We cook, we drink, and we play dominoes just like our parents in Cuba did, so we would be remiss if we didn’t mention Varadero on our list. If you’re staying in Cuba, feel free to skip the hot tubs and jacuzzis, as the water in Varadero is the absolute perfect warm temperature all day long. With an ice-cold mojito and nice warm ocean tide, it’s a beach experience like no other. Dale!

Cayo de Agua, Venezuela

Fun fact: The northernmost islands in Venezuela are actually considered to be a part of the Caribbean! Located in Los Roques National Park, Cayo de Agua is one of the keys on that northernmost Caribbean region in Venezuela that provides one of the ultimate beach experiences. To arrive at the unspoiled beauty of this beach destination, you must walk across a thin stretch of sand before the terrain suddenly opens up and you’re in your own private beach paradise that’ll make you want to say, “hello, beautiful. Where have you been all my life?”

Trunk Bay, St. John

Our final beach selection takes us to another one of the Virgin Islands for our favorite vacation spot off the ol’ beaten path. Trunk Bay offers up a one-of-a-kind trip, taking you on a brief trek through the Virgin Islands National Park before introducing you to this serene beach locale where you can find yourself wading in the water with the animals and immersing yourself in the beauty of nature. Soft white sand, crystal clear blue water, and that fresh sea breeze… welcome to tropical perfection (you can thank us later).
